Subscribe NowThe U.S. Industry Benchmarking Module provides industry-level inputs needed to estimate cost of equity capital, weighted average cost of capital (WACC), and industry-level benchmarks that can be used to augment and support custom analyses.
The module offers a range of methods used to estimate industry-level cost of capital metrics and to analyze each industry statistic in five ways: the median, the industry as whole, the largest companies, the smallest companies, and high-financial-risk companies. Users can compare multiple industries simultaneously and easily download industry statistics into Excel, which also includes the list of companies used in the analysis. Industries and their risks change over time, and it’s important for analysts to understand and quantify those risks. Below is the WACC by Industry based on data from the U.S. Industry Benchmarking Module that illustrates the variability of risk in an industry over time.
